I like his writing style and even though Mitch Rapp is a superman type CIA agent, his adventures are very exciting and a great escape for reading something that is simply brilliant and fantastic. It does provide some educational value about how Presidential politics are conducted in this country. With the current presidential primary season in full bloom, this book provides a peek into what goes on behind TV appearances, press briefings and possible manipulation of the elections to turn a candidate losing in the polls to a come from behind win due to an unfortunate but well timed terror bomb attack that killed the future first lady.The hook is finding out who planned the hit and make them pay for it. This is where super CIA agent Mitch Rapp springs into action. He gets all of the bad guys except one - but luckily, it is continued on the next book. The CIA director lends a hand in the killing game but it's a little too anti-climactic for me. I want this particular bad guy to suffer a very violent end but he does not. It's well and good. The good triumphs over the bad and that is always a happy ending. Josh Alexander is running for president. His vice president candidate running with him assures him they will win in the end. October and they are leaving to go to the Vice Presidential residence for an event when a bomb goes off which surprisingly misses their limo but kills Mrs. Alexander and her Secret Service protector in the limo behind them. Who is to blame and how did it happen they missed the candidates in their limo The head detail SS agent saw a man standing just down the street when the bomb went off. Mitch and his team eventually are in Cyprus with the man they think set the bomb off. I absolutely love Mitch Rapp and all the characters which appear in the series. The writing is clear and the story lines are so close to what we deal with now. In this book, a motorcade of a presidential nominee, vice president and staff is attacked and the candidate for president's wife is killed along with her secret service escorts and nearby pedestrians. This Act of Treason changes the course of the election. The head of the CIA, Irene Kennedy, obtains information about who planned the attack and puts Mitch on the job of proving it. The action continues throughout. There is a lot of political narrative in all of the Rapp series which I speed read through but seems necessary to explain actions. Each books picks up where the last left off and I look forward to continuing reading.See all 840 customer reviews...
