The content is diverse, up to date, and comprehensive, containing useful tables and images, including an electronic textbook with typically 5 test questions at the end of each chapter. The range and detail would meet the requirements for the epilepsy board certification exam. This book has weakness; information best represented in tables, outlines, or illustrations is presented as lengthy, redundant text. The reader will need to generate brief notes, identify significant relationships and generate the relevant tables, outlines or visual aids needed to understand the book's content. Ultimately, what could have been a 600 page excellent learning resource is transformed to a lengthier 1024 page book requiring considerable work from the reader. There are additional problems. The book uses a multitude of non-standard abbreviations with no master table to decode the abbreviatoins. The electronic book limits the amount copied from the book every 24 hours. Authors describe statistically insignificant outcomes as showing a "trend," write extensively about uncontrolled or observational studies with small sample sizes. Providing a greater number of questions at the end of each chapter to evaluate the full content of each chapter would have been better. Overall, it is a good book because it is comprehensive and detailed, however, the failure to provide more comprehensible tables, outlines, and illustrations combined with lengthy and redundant style of writing places a significant burden on the reader. The online ILAE diagnostic manual and online epilepsy textbooks from the NCBI bookshelf provide a free alternative to this book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.Highly recommend!!By CustomerIncredible product.
